Kimai Mobile is a time tracking application developed by Cloudrizon GmbH. Kimai Mobile arranges the connection with the Kimai Time Tracker Server. Kimai Mobile records your working hours and allows you to track the status of your projects and tasks directly on your phone.
Please Note: you need an active connection to your Kimai Time Tracker Server!
To install the application, a user needs to enter any marketplace and search for Kimai Mobile. Then download the app as instructed.
Create a new workspace
There are two ways to create a new workspace for working with the user’s Kimai Account on the mobile. The user can enter all user’s information manually or use the option to enter the user’s Workspace via QR-Code.
To enter the workspace manually, it needs to add further information: workspace name, server URL, email/username, mark whether this workspace is preferred, and enter the password.
Workspace name – the custom name of workspace that will help the user identify the required Workspace.
Server URL – the link to Kimai Time Tracker Server.
Email/Username – the user’s email address used to connect with the Kimai Time Tracker Server.
List of colours – the user can choose the colour of the workspace. This colour determines the colour of the icon for the workspace.
Preferred Workspace – if the user marks this workspace as preferred, it will be open first when the user starts using the application.
Password – enter the API password that you generated in the Kimai Time Tracker Server.
Using QR Code
To enter Workspace using QR Code, it needs to click on the QR code’s button and scan the received code.
In this folder, there are already entered information about spent time and the current timer. There are buttons to open filters for searching and for creating a new time log in this folder.
There is information about time spent in the form of a calendar. To switch the week, click on the green button that is situated next to the current date. Clicking on the button, the pop-up window will open, and the possibility to choose the needed week or month will access.

Language: in further version switcher of the language of the workspace will be available. More information about the other updates is available on the official website.
Time zone: it is the switcher of the time zone for time tracking. By default, it determined the time zone according to the time zone on the user’s mobile. The user can change the needed time zone in the application.
24-hour Time: it is a switcher of displaying the time inside the application. The user could choose a 24-hour time format or a 12-hour time format.

Profile Settings: there is a possibility to add Full Name and Title.
Workspace settings: there is a folder to change the settings of the workspace or add the new. To edit the already existent workspace, click on edit, situated next to the workspace name.
In the header, the access to filters, the button for creating a new time log and access to the switcher of workspaces are located.
To open the filters, click on the first icon on the left in the header.
To apply a filter, choose the needed information about logged time and click on “Apply”.
Button “Reset All” deletes the filter’s settings.
To create a new time log, click on the second icon on the left in the header.
In the opened folder, the user needs to enter needed information about the customer, project, etc. the user could start a timer or enter the already spent time.
To enter a new timer, choose the current time or add it when the user has started the work and click on “Done” top right.
To enter the already spent time, choose the start time and end time and click on “Done” top right.
Clicking on the icon top right, the user opens the manager of workspaces. Here the user can choose the needed workspace, change workspace information, delete or add a workspace.
To change the current workspace, click on the icon of the needed workspace and confirm the action.
To change the information of the workspace, click on “edit”.
To add a new workspace, click on the “+Create a new workspace” and enter all information. Detailed description can be found in Create a new workspace.
Privacy and security
The application asks for access only to your camera in case of entering the workspace via QR Code. On other occasions, it does not ask for any permission.
The application does not collect any of the user’s information. All logging time and other information will save on your Kimai Time Tracker Server and could open and change on your phone via Kimai Mobile. Kimai Mobile save your passwords only on your phone.
